Iranian films vibrant, hold Islamic values: Pakistan minister

Pakistan top-raking official says Iranian films are vibrant and embedded with Islamic values.

Iranian films are vibrant while showing the Islamic values of the society, a Pakistani minister says.

Pakistan Minister of State for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Marriyum Aurangzeb made the remarks during the inaugural ceremony of the five-day Iranian film festival in the Pakistani capital city of Islamabad recently.

“Iranian filmmakers do not follow international trends and try different things. They have gained international recognition and produce Oscar-winning films. Their films are a true reflection of their religion and society,” the minister highlighted.

She added that Iranian films depict glimpses of the culture of the country and its family values.

The Iranian film fest in Pakistan is jointly organized by the Pakistan Council of the Arts (PCA) and the cultural body of the Iranian Embassy.

Films to be screened at the five-day festival include titles such as 'So Far, So Close' 'A Cube of Sugar' and 'Where Are My Shoes?'

The festival opened on Monday, December 11 and will end on Friday, December 15.
